Diolch yn fawr, thank you very much, to Steffan Watkins for bringing his wonderful Welsh Choir to sing for us at Holy Trinity today.
It was, as always, delightful, very moving and a joy to hear. The music programme included achingly beautiful sounds such as ‘Cennin Aur’, ‘Se Hei Lwli’ and ‘Llanwrst’ and more rousingly passionate pieces such as ‘Canon Lan’, ‘O Gymru’ and ‘Y Tangnefeddwyr’.
No matter what the piece, however, that special and unique sound of Cor Godre’e Garth – the Choir at the foothills of Garth Mountain – was ever-present and we loved every moment!
We thanked every member of the choir for their memorable performance today, the septet and cellist, Bethen, for their delightful interlude, Alun for his accomplished patter, Branwen for her superb accompaniment and of course Steffan for bringing us ‘Music from the Land of Song’!
