‘The Life and Music of Amy Beach’ focuses on this extraordinary American composer and pianist who achieved success both in America and Europe during her lifetime, becoming the first American woman to have a symphony published and performed by a major orchestra and inspiring countless aspiring American composers to forge a distinctly American idiom.
Her music is supremely romantic and beautiful and, joining me to present a variety of Beach’s works will be Jenny Barton (soprano), Catherine Lett (violin) and Jenny Kimber (cello).
Entry is free with a retiring collection and refreshments will be available in the interval.
