Chantry Quire embarks on its 25th anniversary season, 2024-25.
Our first event is on Saturday 1 February. For all of you singers who would like the opportunity to get to know Monteverdi’s Vespers, this is one for you! Peter Allwood and members of the Chantry Quire invite you to take part in a day’s workshop at Easebourne Church, where you will be taken through this magnificent work.
Numbers for this are limited, so do be sure to book up if you are interested in taking part. Scores will be provided, but if you already have your own please get in touch so we can check it is the right edition. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available, and you can either bring a packed lunch, or enjoy the local hostelries nearby.
The Choir recently celebrated Christmas at Goodwood House, and our main anniversary concert is sponsored by the Duke of Richmond, in memory of Susan, Duchess of Richmond.
On Saturday 29th March, the Chantry Quire will be performing Monteverdi’s Vespers at Boxgrove Priory. This wonderful piece of choral music and soloists will be accompanied by the Western Wynds led by Cornett player Jeremy West, and will be bringing together both current and previous choir members.
