Miserere Mei, Church of the Holy Spirit, 12 July
The Renaissance Choir presents a diverse collection of unaccompanied religious works on the theme of reflection, salvation and mourning from the 16th through to the 21st century. We will perform both Allegri’s Miserere and MacMillan’s Miserere, plus works by Pärt and Palestrina. Each piece reflects a strong sense of the spiritual, either by recalling acts of devotion or asking for blessing and forgiveness. We offer a myriad of sound worlds within a set of related themes, capturing the beauty of the human voice. Hear us sing in the gorgeous cathedral-like acoustic of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Southsea.
