On Saturday 28 February, the Havant Symphony Orchestra (HSO) will present Echoes of the Isles, featuring music from all four countries of Britain including the Malcolm Arnold Scottish Dances, The Banks of Green Willow, Butterworth and a Welsh Rhapsody by Johnstone.
The latter piece was found in our library by our conductor, James, and is a really beautiful and mainly unknown composition.
The Lord of the Dance suite represents Ireland and was originally composed for the show of the same name featuring Michael Flatley. Our violin soloist, Alexandra Peel, joins us to play Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy.
