We have another wonderful programme lined up, with the Primrose Piano Quartet & guests, including a piano recital by the talented young pianist Thomas Kelly, a finalist at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2021, The Gonzaga Band will explore songs & duets from the age of Monteverdi, and Harriet Burns, a wonderful young soprano, will present a programme of French songs.

The festival, now in its thirteenth year, opens with the event’s founders the Primrose Piano Quartet, performing Brahms’ A major Piano Quartet as well as Mozart’s Duo for Violin & Viola in B flat, and Schubert’s “Arpeggione” Sonata for Cello and Piano.

They are joined by their wonderful guests – the prize winning double bassist Will Duerden joins the Quartet on the Saturday evening. Thomas Kelly, a finalist at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2021 gives a recital on the Friday night, and The Gonzaga Band will explore songs & duets from the age of Monteverdi at the Church of our Lady in Warnford on Saturday afternoon. Harriet Burns, a wonderful young soprano, will present a programme of French songs on the Sunday morning, and the French theme continues for the “Festival Finale” in the afternoon with works by Fauré, Chopin, Saint-Saëns, Françaix and Bizet.

The evening concerts are candlelit and include a glass of wine. The morning concerts include coffee & biscuits and the afternoon concerts tea & cake.
